Welcome
If you live on the Wirral and you look after or care for someone, this website is for you. Welcome!
NEW WEB FORUM NOW LIVE
We have recently launched a web forum so that the community can share thoughts, knowledge and comments with like minded people. This should not be used as a crisis service nor to lodge complaints. For all emergencies/crisis requirements please call our Carers Helpline on 0151 670 0777 |
What this site offers:
- A source of information about organisations and services that can support you
- A message board where you can discuss issues and share opinions with other carers
- A calendar that advertises events and activities
- A quarterly newsletter containing the latest information affecting carers in Wirral
The site was created by Wirral carers, and redeveloped with funding from Neighbourhood Renewal. We hope you find the features and topics relevant. If you would like to have some input into the site then please contact us.
| If you’re browsing during office hours and want to speak to a real person who can talk you through things, please call the Carers Helpline on 0151 670 0777. |
Brief Introduction
Across the country over 6 million people have responsibility for looking after someone. On Wirral alone there are 37,500.
It’s estimated that nationally the work of unpaid carers saves the country a staggering £57 billion – that’s equal to the entire cost of the NHS. Yet it often feels that the job of caring is simply one that we’re left to get on with.
Everyone we’ve spoken to has said that finding information about services, about benefits, and about the people that can help isn’t easy, and since it’s only too easy to be overwhelmed by too much information we’ve divided the site into different sections. Just click on the bit that interests you or type a word into the “Search the Site” box.
